If they could meet the demand and run out of stock less often (especially when products are on special) I'm not sure if they require a larger storage facility on the Island or deliveries more often. But most definitely something needs to be addressed to help the low income retirees, single income families, and disabled people that makes up a lot of the island's population relying on the IGA for their weekly groseries and having to make multiple trips to get what they require. The weekly specials catalogue that's delivered by the postie has become known in my circles as the "IGA's Out Of Stock list". The fridge and freezer sections are the worst areas for understocking
Great variety of items, pork ribs in the hot box are delicious. Friendly staff and good service.
The shop is well stocked but we found the prices to be quite alot dearer this year - particularly the fruit & veg. We've been coming to the island every January for the last 7 years & this is the first time we've found the food to be quite a bit more expensive. The prices used to be only a bit dearer than the mainland which was fine. The staff are always polite & the store is clean & tidy so it is a nice place to shop.
The only decent sized supermarket in the Bay Islands with a range comparable to larger IGAs on the mainland. Price differences are narrow. Easy walk from inter-island passenger ferrys.
